Prof. Dr. Johannes Bitzer, Switzerland
Johannes Bitzer is Former Chairman and Professor em of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Hospitals of the University of Basel.
He is former Head of the Division of Psychosomatic and Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Basel.
He is past president of the European Society of Contraception and past president of the International Society of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynecology and member of several international executive and advisory boards in family planning, sexology and menopause.
He is member of the Executive Committee of the European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Director of the knowledge based assessment in the education committee of EBCOG.
He is member of the Multidisciplinary Joint Committee of Sexual Medicine
Director of the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Sexual Medicine at the Advanced Study Center of the University of Basel
He is Editor in Chief of The European Journal of Contraception and Reproductive Health Care and Associate Editor of the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
During his specialisation in Ob/Gyn he was trained in behavioural sciences and psychotherapy.
His research and practical interest is in contraceptive counselling as well as contraceptive technology, epidemiology, sexual and reproductive health and the interface between obstetrics/gynecology and psychology/psychiatry, which includes infertility counselling and psychooncology.
He has more than 200 peer reviewed publications, has edited three books and given more than 200 invited lectures and workshops
Dr John Stevenson, United Kingdom
Dr John Stevenson is Reader in Metabolic Medicine, National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, and Consultant Physician, Royal Brompton Hospital, London. His research has included studies of metabolic risk factors for coronary heart disease, effects of sex hormone deficiency and replacement, and metabolic bone diseases. He has over 400 publications in journals and books, including 11 textbooks. He is Chairman of the charity Women’s Health Concern, Trustee of the British Menopause Society, Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, Foundation Member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (UK), Executive Committee Member of the European Menopause and Andropause Society, and Editor of Maturitas. He is a past Chairman of the British Menopause Society and past Executive Committee Member of the International Menopause Society.
Prof. Dr Lambrinoudaki, Greece
Dr Lambrinoudaki was born in Athens and graduated from Athens University Medical School. She conducted her Medical Thesis in the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg, Germany on the Epidemiology of osteoporosis in association with endogenous sex hormones. She was trained in Clinical Endocrinology in the Department of Pathophysiology, Athens University Medical School and in the Departments of Endocrinology and Metabolism, in Ruprecht Karls University, Heidelberg, Germany, in Nikaia General District Hospital, Piraeus, Greece and in Queen Mary Hospital, University of Hong Kong. Currently she is Associate Professor of Gynecological Endocrinology in the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Athens, Greece. She has been responsible for educational, clinical and research activities in the Menopause Clinic of the Department since 2000. Up to date she has authored more than 150 publications in peer-reviewed international journals, mainly on gynecological endocrinology, menopause, hormone therapy and osteoporosis. She is President of the Hellenic Society of Climacterium and Menopause, President of the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS) and Editorial Board Member of the journal MATURITAS.
Prof. Davide Carvalho, Portugal
Davide Carvalho is the Head of Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Centro Hospitalar S. João, Associate Professor at Faculty of Medicine University of Porto - Chair of Endocrinology, Nutrition and Metabolic Disorders Integrated Master Course, and is a Core Researcher at I3s (Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde) research group of Metabolism, Nutrition and Endocrinology.
Professor Davide Carvalho research interest focuses on the following: obesity, lipodystrophies, diabetic neuropathy, neuroendocrine modulation of pituitary.
Professor Davide Carvalho is currently member of Executive Committee of the European Neuroendocrine Association and served for 2 mandates the Mediterranean Group for the Study of Diabetes (Executive Committee) and the European Association for the Study of Obesity (General Council). Is a member of the Portuguese Academy of Medicine and of the Board of the College of Endocrinology – Nutrition at Ordem dos Médicos. He has more than one hundred and 10 publications (Scopus h index 13. ORCID Id 0000-0002-3156-3741) and is a reviewer for several international, peer-reviewed journals.
Prof. Dr. Christos Zouboulis, Germany
Prof. Dr. med. Prof. h.c. Dr. h.c. Christos Zouboulis has studied medicine and political sciences at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He performed his pre-doctoral work on cell biology at the Department of Dermatology, Benjamin Franklin Medical Center, Freie Universitaet Berlin, Germany where he was awarded his thesis title (Dr. med.) in 1988. He further continued his postgraduate medical education and completed the residencies in Dermatology and Venereology as well as in Allergology at the same department. Subsequently, he joined the Department of Dermatology, University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor, MI, USA for a research fellowship on molecular biology, and the Department of Dermatology, Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, OH, USA as well as the Department of Dermatology, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University, Boston, MA, USA for clinical research before returning as faculty at the Department of Dermatology, Freie Universitaet Berlin, where he accomplished his habilitation thesis (Priv.-Doz.) in 1995. In 2000, he was named Professor of Dermatology and Venereology of the Freie Universitaet Berlin, where he served as Vice Chair of the Department of Dermatology from 2000 to 2005. In 2005 he was elected Director of the Departments of Dermatology, Venereology, Allergology and Immunology at the Dessau Medical Center, Dessau, Germany and in 2016 Founding Professor of Dermatology and Venereology at the Theodor Fontane Medical University of Brandenburg, Germany. Prof. Zouboulis is currently the Editor of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) News, Co-Editor of Dermato-Endocrinology and Rejuvenation Research and serves in the Editorial Boards of several leading international scientific journals. He has received numerous awards for his scientific work, including the Oskar Gans Prize of the German Dermatological Society, the EADV Research Fellowship, the Felix Wankel Animal Protection Research Prize, the Paul Gerson Unna Prize on immunological research and the Springer Prize for Dermatology. His Departments have been decorated with the title "Germany land of ideas - 2009 place of excellence" for the work on skin stem cell biology. Prof. Zouboulis was elected Prof. h.c. of the University of Franche-Comté, Besançon, France, Dr. h.c. of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Visiting Professor of the Jiao Tong University of Shanghai, China. He is honorary member of the French, the Hungarian and the Lithuanian Dermatological Societies. He currently serves as President of the European Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation (EHSF) e.V., as Honorary President of the European Society of Preventive, Regenerative and Anti-Aging Medicine (ESAAM) after a 10-year active presidency, and as Board member of the EADV and the International Society on Behçet’s Disease. Prof. Zouboulis has performed fundamental research - among other fields - on Dermato-Endocrinology and sebaceous glands, acne, hidradenitis suppurativa/acne inversa, skin stem cells, molecular ageing, dermato-pharmacology, cryosurgery, and rare diseases incl. Adamantiades-Behçet's disease. He is the author of more than 700 publications (cumulative impact factor 1460; h index 78), has given over 500 invited lectures, has organized numerous conferences and is owner on five patents, including one for the SZ95 sebaceous gland cell line, an in vitro model for acne, aging and lipid research. He has first described the flashing pulsating angioma and the trias of keratosis pilaris, ulerythema ophryogenes and 18p monosomy, whereas the latter has been confirmed by several other authors and has been proposed as “Zouboulis syndrome”.
